Make A Travel First Aid Kit For Your Vehicle
You need to make yourself a travel first aid kit! You can go and buy yourself a ready made kit but why not make your own that you can customize to you or your families personal needs. If you want to make one that covers a lot of situations and are concerned about the cost, you can spread the purchases out over a few weeks or months.
At least getting it started is the main thing, you can continually add to it as time goes on. Your first concern would be what kind of container or bag do you want? How large should it be, this will be determined by how much you want to put in it. Get a sturdy box or bag that you are sure will withstand some banging around and not break open on you.
The first items you should be adding to it would be the band aids of various sizes, wipes to clean off any cuts and abrasions, don’t forget antibiotic ointment and some disposable gloves. Some sterile gauze and adhesive tape would be useful. If you can get one of those disposable ice packs it would be worth it.
Other items you should add would be Ibuprofen, sunscreen, stomach ache medicine and any personal medications any family members may need. You should consider anything you can possibly think of that may come up that may need some attention, especially if you have small kids. You want to make them as comfortable as possible while traveling.
When you have your first aid kit set up the way you like, put in your vehicle and leave it there. Remember this is a traveling first aid kit, if you want one for the house then make another one. And don’t borrow anything from your travel kit to use for home use because the odds of you replacing it are slim.
